‘Developing Key Working’ is a guide for all those involved in developing, managing and delivering key working. The guide not only introduces key working but also explores how it can impact the provision of care and services to children and young people with SEND. Key working embodies the changes set out in the recent SEND reforms and is one of the core mechanisms that local authorities can use to help them to meet the requirements of the new legislation.
The authors draw on information gathered from a young person, parents, key working practitioners, managers and commissioners from sites across four local authorities, along with further evidence gathered by other organisations.
The Guide was commissioned by the National Children’s Bureau and produced by the Open University.
